Post Glover’s line of stationary, outdoor resistive load banks are designed and built to be permanently mounted and used for dedicated, on-site testing. The result of over 100 years of experience, these load banks are built to withstand not only the elements but also continuous duty in difficult conditions. A modular design concept enables larger units to be constructed from standard “building blocks”. This simplifies component sourcing and manufacturing, allowing us to ship your load bank quicker. The resistors elements require no cool-down period between operations; the louvered enclosures are designed for safety and durability.
Features & Specifications
Post Glover load banks are available in a variety of configurations, allowing customers to choose the ratings and options they require without paying for extras unnecessary to them. The basic features have been standardized, allowing for cost efficiencies and faster lead times owing to “in-stock” components.
Resistors
PG makes its own spiralwound elements, which are perfectly suited for fan-cooled applications. The corrosion resistant wire presents little air resistance, creating a longlife resistor.
Cooling
Cooling is provided by a self-contained, fused 3, 5 or 10 HP, three-phase blower. Blower power is normally derived from the power source being tested.
Enclosure
Standard housing is NEMA 3R powder-coated aluminized steel. Fixed louvers protect the exhaust opening, and the base is designed for movement using a forklift and for mounting on a concrete pad.
Controls
Housed in a segregated control compartment, the standard controls are mounted directly on the load bank. Standard controls include Power On-Off, Master Load On-Off, Load Step Selector Switches and Voltage Selector Switch where applicable. Indicating lights include Power On, Load Steps On, Load Connected, Loss of Airflow, and Over-temperature status.
Protection
Over-temperature sensors, differential pressure switch and automatic load dump on loss of utility power are standard features. All steps are protected by branch circuit fusing.
Control Power
120 volts, single phase, 60 Hz (customer supplied or from optional control power transformer).
Options
Directional ducting for the exhaust air including vertical exhaust, Automatic Step Control, PLC based controls, other control voltages, convection cooled assemblies and specific step resolution are available options.
