Smoothwound Resistors

  • The smoothwound resistor element is Nichrome or stainless steel resistance alloy wire wound around a smooth porcelain tube.
  • Used for low current industrial applications up to 18 amps continuous with resistance ratings up to 5000 ohms.
  • Elements range from 230 to 1100 Watts.
  • Used for high resistance values or where an adjustable slider band is required.
  • Industry standard size allows for easy drop-in replacement of other brands including Cutler-Hammer, GE, Milwaukee, Ohmite and Post Glover
  • These units are typically used for dynamic braking of variable speed drives below 5 horsepower.
